AWON has a General Assembly (CA) that meets every year. The CA provides policy directions to AWON, oversees the programme and financial management and elects a 7-member Executive Committee every two years. The Executive Board is accountable to the General Assembly and is involved at policy-level implementation and directs the management in fundraising, strengthening programs and funds management. AWON Executive Board determines the accountability of the executive personnel, handing over/taking over and delegation of authority in the absence of authority delegated executive personnel. AWON adopts the funding agency’s guidelines and provision regarding accountability system set by grant contract. However, none of the AWON Board Members are regular salaried staff. In the meantime, the final responsibility to execute and administer policies and day-to-day management of the organization lies with the Executive Director/Manager.
